Dubai is LDE’s third international office, following London and Bogotá, ensuring proximity to the global market and direct operations to ethical sourcing of gold and gemstones worldwide. The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) was a natural choice for head office, as the global hub for precious metal, gem, tea, and coffee trade. The City of Gold is a tax efficient, strategic destination with first-rate access to key commodity markets.
LDE secures the entire mine-to-market process, ethically securing bulk orders at the source and processing materials responsibly to deliver retail-ready products. Our Dubai operations include the facility to receive and store these commodities in insured storage within secure vaults. Dubai’s world-class infrastructure provides the ideal platform to facilitate these operations, aligned with the highest governance standards. The DMCC operations include shipping and freight deliveries, which have been able to remain stable despite any surrounding geopolitical challenges.
Dubai serves as an international hub at the centre of our precious metal and gem mining partnerships throughout South America, Africa and Australia. We have been operating a DMCC Trade licence since January 2022, since Dubai’s world-class infrastructure and the flexibility of its free zone trading environment provide an ideal platform for moving both goods and funds. Second only to Switzerland, Dubai is the largest trading centre globally for rough diamonds. In the diamond sector, the DMCC has overtaken Antwerp as the largest hub for rough diamond trading. These impressive statistics prove that Dubai is at the forefront of the precious gems global market.
